Jozani Forest
Jozani Forest is part of the “Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park”, a tropical natural reserve forming an important ecosystem. The high, dense ground water forest is famous for being home to the red colobus monkey, a very rare species only found in Zanzibar
Strong shoes appropriate for walking in the forest. Not allowed to touch monkeys, alter habitat, or take any items home. Walk in silence.
A guide will show you to small colonies of these unusual primates.However, the tropical rain forest with its lush vegetation is an attraction itself. Other animals to be seen include Blue Sykes Monkeys, and sometime elephant shrews and bush babies.The tour also includes a walk through the mangrove forest.
From 8:30am to 9:00am pick up time depending on hotel distance. Half day excursion.
